Cars List/Guide

Car List/Guide

With my short time here, I’ve noticed quite a few people asking questions about the cars in Project Torque and saying that it would be cool if there was some sort of list with the cars and their stats. That’s why I created this list. In this list you’ll find data on every car in game, including pictures to go along with it. As long as I play this game, the guide will be up to date with the newest cars. If I ever decide to stop playing I’ll try and hand this project over to someone else.

This guide is meant to be a reference, as well as a good source of information for those starting out, and those that just want to see some quick info. The guide can be used to choose cars based upon their stats and looks. However remember that numbers on paper aren’t always very accurate. A good car in the hands of a good driver can beat a car with an advantage in number and stats. With this in mind, nothing is as good as a good test-drive with the car to get a feel for it’s handling and power. After looking at anything here, before making up your mind it’s a good idea you test drive some of the cars.

The guide has a lot of text. Rather than have in game pictures of the car and its stats I have organized it this way so that you can search the list for anything you’re looking for.

The list is split up into the different categories and classes available in game:

Street
Class 1
Class 2
Class 4
Class 5
Class 6

Off-road
Class 1
Class 4

Race
Class 3

Buggy

Class 2

In each of these categories you’ll find the car’s name, their pictures and their stats. All the stats in red are for a STOCK car. Beside these numbers are numbers in green and in brackets. This is the max stat you can achieve with upgrades. In other words, if you have a fully upgraded car, your car will have the stats that are in green. The descriptions of the car are from in game. The level limit is the level which you must first obtain to unlock the car. The top speed is given in km/h OR it’s equivalent in mph (don’t be confused by the OR, it’s there to divide the 2 types of units, but both speeds are actually the same.

*New Updates*
There is now a list of possible upcoming cars at the end of the list of current cars. There is also a preview of possible visual upgrades i.e parts that are available for each car. In addition, you can now find the cost to upgrade to each new stage of upgrades for a car. The cost includes all upgrades for that stage (ex. all Stage II/Level 2 upgrades). It does not include the cost for any previous upgrades. The cost is simply for all the upgrades of that level. In other words, the total cost to upgrade to Stage II for example will be Cost for Stage II + Cost for Stage I. There is however the Cost to fully upgrade the car. Prices are listed in RP and AP.

The cars, whether they are to be bought by RP/AP or AP only are mixed. For this reason I have created the following list to distinguish between the AP and RP/AP cars. The cars are in alphabetical order

AP Only
2000 GT
Corolla GT-S
Corvette C6
Evo IX MR
MR2 GT-S
RX-7 Spirit R
RX-8 Type-S
WRX STI

RP/AP
Buggy Evo II

Destoyer
Harpoon
Hexan GT
Kawana K-660
Lion
Miyato Wizz

Phoenix 400 HO

Also, here’s a little glossary of the different drivetrains available in Project Torque and what they mean. These drivetrains come with the car and will give certain advantages/disadvantages. They cannot be changed so choose carefully.

4WD - Front Engine, 4 Wheel Drive
FF - Front Engine, Front Wheel Drive
FR - Front Engine, Rear Wheel Drive
MR - Mid Engine, Rear Wheel Drive
M4 - Mid Engine, 4-Wheel Drive
RR - Rear Engine, Rear Wheel Drive

Front Engine - the engine is situated above or in front of the front axle of the car
Mid Engine - the engine is situated in between the front and rear axles of the car
Rear Engine - the engine is situated above or behind the rear axle of the car

Front Wheel Drive - the rotational force created by the engine is transmitted to the road via the front wheels
Rear Wheel Drive - the rotational force created by the engine is transmitted to the road via the rear wheels
All Wheel Drive/4 Wheel Drive - all of the wheels (all 4) recieve some of the energy from the engine, meaning that all of the wheels are turned by the engine and move the car forward

As well there are certain cars that you (can) recieve rather than buying.
The list of cars that you recieve:
C-Racer - after first license test
TA- Rookie
Class 1 cars (except Corolla GT-S) - one is recieved at the start of the game, the other’s are rewards in the career missions.
